Samlesbury Hall Wedding - Siobhán & Paul
Siobhán & Paul booked me ages ago after being a guest at one of my previous weddings in 2016. I actually think they were one of my very first bookings for this year! Unfortunately due to our busy schedules & living so far apart, we only managed to have a Skype call before the day, but I knew we would all get along & I couldn't have been more right. Rob & I had such a great day, not just cause they both looked fabulous but also with how lovely they both are, along with their families.
Rob was second shooting with me but last minute they chose for him to also film their ceremony & speeches, which I am so glad they did as the speeches were amazing. It was so refreshing also having a Bride & Mother of groom's speech! Who said the ladies can't have a chance to stand & speak?!
We stayed the night before as Preston is quite a drive for us. I left Rob with the boys in the morning who were also in our hotel, whilst I went to Siobhán's parents house to photograph the prep. Everyone was so lovely & as I have said before, this really does impact how we work on the day! I always say it's so important to feel like friends, & straight away we did. We then all met at St. James the Less Church for a lovely ceremony followed by their reception at Samlesbury Hall - a gorgeous medeveial house which was built in 1325! This really suited their Shakespeare, Midsummer Night's Dream theme. I quickly had a look in their gorgeous room & said "oooo very Midsummers" to which Siobhán replied "yes! That's the theme". Then I had a closer look at the table names which were all different characters from the play! Siobhán loves Shakespeare so it was lovely also hearing his sonnets in the ceremony, as I actually know a few of these from Drama School! Their timeless look also suited this style, Siobhán looked like a real life princess, I adored her timeless, classy, long-sleeved dress which complimented her natural beauty, along with my FAVOURITE black tie suit which Paul & the boys looked incredibly smart in.
Another thing I have to mention is the huge height difference, even though they are probably fed up with people achknowledging it - BUT, Siobhán is 5ft & Paul is 6ft 2, so even her brand new Louboutin's couldn't equalise them! This is something you don't consider to be a challenge as a photographer until they are standing in front of you, but it was a beautiful challenge to have & actually means you can shoot wonderful 'poses' if done correctly.
Talking of 'poses', I shall let the photographs do the rest of the talking & leave you with some lovely words from Siobhán & Paul.
"Wow - we weren't expecting these so soon! What a brilliant surprise! I know how busy you at the moment are so thank you so much for getting these to us only two weeks after the wedding. We've just spent the past hour looking through them all and they are absolutely amazing - photos to be treasured forever. You're ridiculously talented and you've captured the day so perfectly. We're blown away - thank you both for giving our families such magical memories of the day. We think you're amazing."
