Alrewas Hayes Glamorous Wedding - Georgia & Danny
I am SO excited to share this wedding! I’ve spent the last few days (one of which involved staying up until 2AM) to finish this & whilst I was editing I was actually saying “thank you, thank you” over & over in my head as I really do feel privileged I got to photograph Georgia & Danny’s day. You may have read one of my recent blogs about my ‘Wedding Photography Bucket List’, well if I were to do a new list ‘Georgia & Danny’ would be a part of it. I would make up a category just for them! Humble, beautiful, positive, kind, relaxed, funny & totally in the moment. These were the qualities of Georgia & Danny all through their gorgeous day which started at All Saints' Church, Four Oaks followed by a reception at Alrewas Hayes. However I know these qualities they posses every day, as it was made obvious by the amount of friends & family who surrounded them with so much love, & how I couldn’t help but feel happy in their company. I know this all sounds so cheesy, & cheesy is something I am not, but this is honestly all coming from my heart! I ABSOLUTELY BLOOMIN LOVED this wedding.
I dropped Rob to the boys at Georgia & Danny’s house in the morning then I went on to Georgia’s parents house where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids. Considering there was quite a lot of people in the house, there wasn’t one ounce of stress, everyone was smiling & everything was calm. Georgia’s makeup was already done which meant she got into her dress with plenty of time to spare & I was lucky enough to spend time taking some bridal portraits & makeup touch up shots. I have said this before but honestly, getting into your dress earlier makes so much difference, not just from a photo perspective but just to elevate any last minute stresses. As I was photographing Georgia I think I did fall slightly in love, so asked if she would marry me instead, & Danny could have Rob..... but, as I am writing the blog of their wedding you can see that didn’t happen. Never mind.
Once I arrived at the church the rain had started but as you can see from Georgia’s face getting out of the car - NOTHING fazed her. Umbrella? Nope! Whilst I was waiting at the front with Danny I told him to prepare himself for how beautiful she looked. So I wasn’t surprised at all by his tearful reaction when she walked in, then once he had gathered himself he turned to me & mouthed “wow”. How lovely. It was actually like something from a film!
Once we arrived back at Alrewas Hayes I spent some time with Georgia & Danny taking their couple portraits whilst all of the guests were still arriving. I was so glad Rob was with me as there was so much detail to photograph including PINEAPPLES (my favourite thing), so he concentrated on getting some detail shots & guests enjoying ice cream despite the on & off rain. I have got to admit, when I saw inside the marquee I was blown away. Gorgeous table linens, pineapples, tall floral centrepieces & so much more! I was also happy we got time to do some more portraits inside as I love the interior at Alrewas, especially the funky wallpaper!
The next part of the day I am not going to speak much about as it was a wonderful surprise for all the guests. I'm afraid if I give it all away & they happen to be at other weddings you may guess it before it happens. All I will say is they had surprise singing waiters & seeing all the guests reactions was such a highlight of the day & it really got the party started, including a bride & groom dance before they even had started speeches! We managed to enjoy a glimmer of golden hour before speeches started & then once A LOT of evening guests arrived madness truly did commence. But it was amazing madness. Madness I wanted to be a part of. It's very rare I want to be a guest when I am photographing a wedding as I just get so tired, but this was one I really could've 'placed' the camera down for & grabbed a cocktail. It was also lovely & rather emotional for me to see two of my oldest friends who actually recommended me to Georgia & I am so so grateful that they did. Unfortunately we didn't manage to see much of the Bruno Mars band as they started much later but from what we heard & saw footage of afterwards, they were fantastic & carried the night through perfectly.
Georgia & Danny are wonderful human beings & I feel so lucky that I was the photographer for their day. Not only did they make us feel so welcome & treat us like guests, we were given the utmost respect from all of their guests which really makes a difference & keeps us going through what quite frankly is for us - a very long day! I will let the photos do the rest of the talking, but will leave you with some lovely words from them.
