Dionne and Jordan at Middleton Lodge Estate
It’s been far too long since I last shared a post here, but if you follow me you would’ve noticed that 2024 was an incredibly busy year! Between capturing unforgettable moments, including three destination weddings, editing countless beautiful shots, family shoots, and just settling into my new life, blogging definitely took a backseat. But now I have some time, I’m excited to be back to my blog sharing some of the amazing weddings and moments I’ve had the privilege of documenting!
Last week I ran an Instagram competition asking my followers to vote on which wedding they’d like to see featured on my blog. The winning choice was Dionne and Jordan’s stunning celebration at Middleton Lodge and I am very excited to share this with you! I shall still be blogging the runner up and lots more weddings I haven’t had the chance to properly share just yet!
But for now, I had the privilege of capturing the wedding of Dionne and Jordan at Middleton Lodge last July. Middleton is a venue I have photographed at a few times. It perfectly combines timeless elegance with natural beauty and is always a pleasure. I was initially contacted by their amazing wedding planner Alicia Marie Weddings, which straight away heightened my excitement, so I was truly honoured when I had the email saying they had chosen me.
On the day itself, I spent the morning with Dionne and her girls, whilst my second shooter Laura May was with the boys at Kip & Nook - another fabulous venue close by. By the time of the ceremony the weather had taken a turn, but everything was set up and ready to go outside, so it did actually happen in light rain. This isn’t the norm for Middleton, so please don’t ask them for a rainy ceremony if you are getting married there, not that I think many would, but I did think it was rather romantic!
On my pre wedding video call with Dionne, she told me how she loved a more candid, natural style, so I focused on this mainly, whilst also still taking a bit of time for some extra special portraits. Hopefully you can see this when viewing some of the photographs below.
Inside, the tables were adorned with elegant florals by Blossom + Ash, but the actual styling was done by Dionne herself, helped by the wonderful wedding planner Alicia!
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, joyful laughter, a dress change and plenty of dancing—everyone was eager to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs Lavender! Best name ever by the way!
Capturing this wedding was an experience I’ll never forget. Every detail, every moment, was a testament to their love and the joy they share. It was truly an honour to photograph such a beautiful celebration in one of my favourite venues, where I have the pleasure of being photographing at FIVE times this year!
I would also like to add how amazing every single supplier was on this day. It really was an absolute pleasure working with them all. I shall share all their links below.
Dionne and Jordan, thank you so much for choosing me. I am excited to see you again soon…
