Colourful Tipi Wedding at home - Caroline & Adam
After all this bizarre freezing cold weather we have had I thought this extremely colourful, fun wedding from last Summer would be the perfect one to share!
When I first met up with Caroline & Adam I was instantly excited by the sound of their wedding - colourful, tipi's in the garden, ten bridesmaids, 150+ guests... - I knew it was going to be amazing & it definitely didn't disappoint. I also knew that I would need Rob with me so was very pleased when they wanted a second shooter. I think any wedding with over 100 guests should have two shooters but especially as so much was going on in terms of locations & just general mad fun, it was going to be beneficial for them both.
I dropped Rob to Adam & his chaps in the morning at Adam's family home where the reception was happening. I then went on to a lovely cottage nearby to photograph bridal prep & I was greeted with what can only be described as 'the opening scene to Home Alone', you know if you know. As Caroline had ten Bridesmaids & Flower girls you can imagine the excitement in the cottage & it made for some amazing bridesmaid photos in their colourful gowns.
Then off we went to the ceremony at The Pear Tree Inn & Country Hotel, where we stayed to do a few photos afterwards by the lovely lake. I then sped off to meet both Adam & Caroline in a field by the house whilst Rob photographed everyone arriving to the tipis. This was all pre-planned so we could make the most of the time in the fields & with the car. I could never turn up to a wedding without a plan!
The lovely thing about this wedding being at home meant the drinks reception was extremely relaxed with no rush or pressure. It meant we could really capture the fun as it was unfolding in front of us & I let Adam & Caroline take control of the group photos so they could just grab me as & when, which resulted in lots of fun group shots which you will see below. They don't always have to be 'formal'. I also loved how so much was going on all around the garden, including marryoke, a singer, lawn games & copious amounts of alcohol - including what they called 'Marry me Mojito' (my favourite!).
The highlight for me was Adam's speech which he sang accompanied by the music to "Shout out to my ex" by Little Mix, (it wasn't about any ex's may I add) & "Your Song" by Rita Ora - it was so funny & endearing, which are two of his qualities. Both Rob & I were very moved along with the guests & of course Caroline! Then to top it all off, Caroline got changed & they did a choreographed first dance megamix which was just so refreshing. I loved how they didn't stick to wedding traditions & instead made decisions to suit them. I know I have said the word 'fun' numerous times but that's what comes to mind when I think back to this day.
