Timeless Iscoyd Park Wedding - Karl & Becky
On the 31st May this year, again in my busiest week, Karl & Becky got married at the gorgeous Iscoyd Park - one of my favourite venues to work at! It’s actually a photographers dream. The grounds are full of little hidden spots & the ceremony / evening reception room is magnificent for bouncing light due to it’s neutral palette & large windows.
Becky works in events & wedding planning so I knew the day would be filled with immense style, & because of this I felt privileged that they chose us to be their photographers! As soon as I saw the black tie suits, & Becky’s delicately jewelled dress & gorgeous details containing Jo Malone perfume - I knew I was ‘on to a winner’. Setting & details really help when photographing bridal prep, as I always use them to set the scene & tone for the rest of the day.
We were prepared for thunderstorms. Both Rob & I had raincoats packed but actually spent most of the day sweating as it was glorious, & you will see further down the blog we were also blessed with a beautiful golden hour.
Rob stayed with the boys during the morning whilst I was with the lovely girls watching them open presents, sip Prosecco & have makeup done by Mia Kearns. This was followed by a gorgeous ceremony & a relaxed drinks reception on the lawn. I could tell how much Karl & Becky trusted me to take control which meant they had plenty of time for mingling, family photos & couple photos. They both looked like models - timeless & classy with their all white floral colour scheme. When I walked into the marquee I was blown away by the florals & styling by Kelly Louise Floral Artistry - just amazing!
After speeches I could spot a golden hour brewing, so we whisked Karl & Becky away for 10 minutes to get a few more photos in the lovely light. As I have said before, I really emphasise the importance of these moments as it’s the only time you will spend alone during the day (unless you choose to leave the party!), so try not to think of it as a photoshoot & dread taking the time. If you trust me & just relax with each other in front of me you can get lots of portraits together, just like Karl & Becky.
By the end of any wedding it’s usually rare we would love the idea of staying for a party, however on this occasion they had super cool DJ Will Maden from Six15 who is exceptional & what he does & really got the party going. We honestly didn’t want to leave!
I will now leave you to admire their beautiful stylish day & I can’t wait to be back at this venue in 2019!
